Sumrall Glass Company has been in business for 60 years.\u00a0 Today, the company is owned and operated by Brandon Sumrall.\u00a0 He is a third-generation glazier.\u00a0 The company was founded in 1963 in Tylertown by Brandon\u2019s grandfather, Oscar Sumrall.\u00a0 Oscar was a homebuilder by trade, and at the time, there were no other glass companies in Tylertown.\u00a0 His brother, Don, had a successful glass business in Clanton, AL, and Oscar saw the need and opportunity for the same success in Tylertown.<\/p>\n

The company started small doing mostly auto glass, residential glass installation and repair, patio coverings, and a few small commercial storefronts.\u00a0 Oscar soon employed his two sons, Olen and J.L. Sumrall, and they learned the business at an early age.\u00a0 Oscar passed away in 1973 and left the company to his two sons.\u00a0 At the time, Olen was only 18 years old and J.L. was only 22 years old.<\/p>\n

Over the next decade, the brothers worked together to successfully grow the business and branch out to a few commercial glass jobs.\u00a0 In 1985, Olen bought out J.L. and three years later built a new facility as the company had vastly outgrown the original building his father had opened 25 years prior.\u00a0 Olen\u2019s business then continued to evolve and he took on more complex commercial jobs.<\/p>\n

The first large commercial job Olen took on was a bank in Natchez.\u00a0 Once that job was completed, Olen realized that he and his small company were more than capable of taking on large-scale commercial jobs.\u00a0 He accepted jobs all over south Mississippi, mostly in the Hattiesburg and Gulf Coast areas.\u00a0 The company\u2019s reputation for high quality work led to many opportunities.\u00a0 A lot of the commercial jobs had other components that Olen saw the chance to accommodate, and through the late 80s and early 90s he expanded his services to installation of overhead doors and canopies in addition to the glass installations.<\/p>\n

Brandon began working with Olen in the mid-90s when he was just a teenager himself.\u00a0 After completing junior college, he went to work full-time with Olen at Sumrall Glass Company.\u00a0 Over the next two decades Brandon learned and excelled in the glass industry.\u00a0 His attention to detail and high quality work coupled with his work ethic and commitment to perfection solidified the company\u2019s reputation among architects and contractors throughout south Mississippi.\u00a0 Over the past 15 years, Brandon and Olen have propelled Sumrall Glass Company into a national company.<\/p>\n

In 2021, Brandon took over as sole owner of Sumrall Glass Company, and Olen still plays a prominent role.\u00a0 To date, Sumrall Glass Company has completed jobs in eleven different states, mostly in the southeastern U.S. but as far west as Albuquerque, NM.\u00a0 For the past 60 years, it has been our pleasure to serve residents and commercial businesses in the southeastern United States, and we look forward to expanding that business over the next 60 years.\u00a0 We hope to have the opportunity to serve you!<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
